$12 is well worth the quiet languid ambience and soul-stirring music…
Last night found me lounging langorously on a cozy sofa in the marvelous colonial setting of Intercontinental Hotel at Bugis Junction.
This is fast becoming my favourite place for a lazy chill-out. The lounge exudes a charming peace and quiet that is at a total odd from the shopping buzz on the other side of the door. Victorian style sofas are locoated at comfortable distances apart, providing discreet privacy for the customers. Thankfully, the clientele here are not the loud-screeching and table-thumping crowd. The menu offers the usual fare of cocktails and wines. Do try a cuppa from premium arabica beans. You can smell wafts of heavenly aroma when the waitress is only metres away. You are also welcomed to order the divine cakes from The Olive Tree Restaurant.
The attraction of the place is really the live performace of soulful jazz singing, accompanied by a skilful pianist. Just sitting there, the music and quiet cozy ambience will slowly but surely, drain away the last bit of stress.
So, yeah… $12 a cuppa at Intercontinental Hotel is definitely well worth it.
